Research

Dr. Lydia Bremer-McCollum (she/hers) is a feminist scholar of religion and ancient Christianities. She writes about the intersections of philology and justice. She is also a specialist in Coptic language and literature in late antiquity. She is particularly interest in discourses of soul travel, dreams, and visionary experiences.

My first book (in-progress) is supported by the ACLS and examines the intersections of justice and the study of ancient Christian books. A portion of this research appears in my forthcoming Journal of the Study of the New Testament article “The Pernicious Supremacy of the Christian Codex” (avail. below). My second book research explores the coded letters of the Egyptian monk Pachom(ius).
